“Homeschool Hacks: Top Tips That Make a Big Difference”

Are you looking for some hacks that can help make your homeschooling experience a little easier? Over the last 5 years I have discovered a few things that help make a big difference in our homeschool Here are some staples I try to include in our homeschool on a daily basis.

Homeschool Hacks: Do Morning time:

This is a must for our family. We need time and space to all gather to enliven our curiosity and enrich our souls. I set up the table with a snack and sometimes tea. When it’s cold, I have a fire going and light candles. My kids do an art or handwriting activity and listen to a story or a “Saints Alive Podcast”. I try to avoid getting burnt-out and limit the number of things we do during morning time. I try to keep it as simple as I can.

Homeschool Hacks: Keep your curriculum and material simple:

Every year I get way to ambitious, and I want to do all the things. I try to do it all and then end up cutting half of it out when I realize I don’t have the bandwidth. Trim the fat, and don’t beat yourself up if you decide not to use something you bought. Its’ better to be at peace then to try to force something that isn’t jiving.

Homeschool Hacks: Make Something Meaningful

Make something meaningful every-day. Crafting is fun every once in a while, but when kids get to make something meaningful, it means more. When children get the opportunity to cook, make candles, sew, grow plants, write letters to family members, make Christmas gifts. When children make things that are contributive, children feel a sense of importance. Making things that are meaningful enriches the day and makes homeschooling more enjoyable for you and your kids.

Homeschool Hacks: Keep supplies close and on hand

Supplies close and on hand helps cut down on distractions. It’s frustrating to me and my kids when I have to leave the table to find supplies every few minutes. I know this feeling well. It took me some-time to get organized, but it makes a huge difference.

I would love to know the things that help your homeschool run smoothly. Comment below!
