Handmade 4th of July Crafts for Kids
4th of July T-shirt
Supplies: Plain white t-shirts, fabric paint, star stamps, letter stamps, plastic disposable table cloth.
Instructions: Set out t-shirts over plastic disposable table cloth. Fill paper plates with red, white and blue paint. Set out star stamps. Have children stamp the stars onto the t-shirts. Older kids can make phrases with the letter stamps. Let dry. Wear on the 4th of July!
God Bless America Banner:
Supplies: Canvas, felt, fabric paint, fabric glue, letter stamps
Instructions: Cut out a long Banner 2-3 ft long (depending on the size of the letter stamps). Do a test run of the letter stamps before you cut. Spell out the phrase “God Bless America” on a piece of paper for your kids. Then have children use the paint and letter stamps to spell out, “God Bless America” on the canvas. Cut out stars from the felt and use the fabric paint to glue on.
Star Wreath
Supplies: You’ll want a stack of red white and blue paper, scissors, paper ribbon, pipe cleaners, red white and blue pom pom balls, small personal foam wreaths or large foam wreath.
Instructions: Have your child use scissors to cut the paper into star shapes. If this is too difficult, you can help by drawing the stars.Children can glue on the stars, strip the ribbon to make curls, curl the pipe cleaners and glue on the pom poms. Basically give your children the material and they will have a hay day!
